The scan

The readiness scan is free and provided as-is. It reads publicly available files from the address you give us and scores them against published, evolving conventions for machine-readable websites. It is a diagnostic, not a guarantee: a good score does not promise that any assistant will recommend you, and a poor score does not mean none will.

Only scan sites you own or have permission to test. We fetch about a dozen public documents, identify ourselves as OwnYourListingBot, and cache each result for 24 hours so a repeat scan does not reach your server again. We limit how many scans one address can run in a short window, and we may refuse any request.

We read robots.txt — it is one of the things we grade — but a scan is requested by a person about a specific site, so we do not treat a crawl exclusion as a reason to skip the rest of the check. If you would rather we did not fetch your site at all, write to us and we will block it.

Directory data

Listings are assembled from public records and are provided for information. Licence status reflects what the source register said when we last read it, which may lag the register itself. Always confirm a licence directly with the issuing authority before relying on it. A verification on this site is always scoped to a specific credential and states what it covers; we never assert that a business is verified in general.

The API and MCP server

The public API and MCP server are open and unmetered while we are in early access. We may introduce rate limits or keys with notice. Do not scrape the HTML pages when the API returns the same data in a better format.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the scan, the directory or the API. Nothing here is legal, medical or professional advice.
